The Department of Antiquities started the digitization of the photo archive in 2007. The digital archive includes high-quality digital images that were scanned and integrated into the system as digital copies. By 2019, the digital archive included almost 50,000 digital photos from the DoA collection and other, donated photo collections such as from David Kennedy, Institut français de Jordanie, ACOR, the Getty Conservation Institute, Ghazi Beisheh, and others. This digital archive is offline and only accessible to DoA staff.
