Petra Area and Wadi Silaysil Survey (PAWS) - Project Webpages (المسح الأثري في منطقة البترا ووادي سليسل)

The Petra Area and Wadi Silaysil Survey (PAWS) is a pedestrian survey carried out in the area north of Petra City Centre at Wadi Slaysil, Wadi Beqaa, and Bayda, including the slopes of the Shara Mountains towards the village of Umm Sayhun. The survey also mapped and recorded archaeological features in the landscape. All field walkers were equipped with GPS. The project main webpage provides an aerial photograph of the areas surveyed between 2010 and 2012. Outlines of the activities carried out during the 2010, 2011, and 2012 survey seasons are available on the respective season pages. The 2010 survey was also published in the 2011 ADAJ volume (see citation).
