The Association for the Understanding of Ancient Cultures (جمعية فهم الثقافات القديمة)

The Association for the Understanding of Ancient Cultures describes the aims of the AUAC consortium.

The AUAC website provides a platform for associated archaeological projects in Jordan and elsewhere. Relevant to Jordan are: - The North Eastern Petra Project - The International Umm al-Biyara Project - The International Wadi al-Farasa Project - The International Ez Zantur Project - The International Aslah Project - The International Khubta Tombs Project Each project webpage provides an outline of the project and a summary of each archaeological season. The AUAC has also conducted its own excavation in Petra between 2010 and 2014. These campaigns are outlined in the 'Weblogs' session.

AUAC also publishes the Bulletin of Nabataean Studies (BNS), and its website provides information on the editorial board, and a short bibliography on Nabataean studies in general.

Finally, the AUAC website hosts two databases relevant to Jordan. A bibliographical database on Nabataean studies and a Audio/Video Recordings database discussing research and cultural heritage at Petra.
